North County Locations
This post lists some of my favorite locations to shoot in North County San Diego! I hope this will help you in choosing a place that suits your family and facilitates me in not only capturing great memories for you but showcasing WHO your family is and how much you love one another :)
What to Wear: Families
What to Wear to your Family Session
The second most popular question I get asked by my clients is "What should we wear?" I understand it can be difficult to decide which clothes to coordinate with one another but this post is designed to make preparing your outfits a little easier! First, here are my top 10 rules to follow:
1. Ditch the uniforms! Don't even think about wearing the same color shirt and jeans. That's been long overdone in the 90's.
2. Pick a color palette that compliments the location of your shoot. For example, bold colors look great in the city, pastels in the country and neutrals at the beach.
3. Have 1 or two people wear prints/patterns and the rest of the group wears solids of the colors in that particular print/pattern.
4. Adults, avoid shorts. They are rarely ever flattering and the abundance of skin showing can be distracting in a photograph.
5.Don't wear t-shirts, hoodies, or anything with logos!
6. Layers always add dimension. Pair a dress with a cardigan or a colored shirt with a vest or jacket.
7. ACCESSORIZE! Put a headband on your little girl or a cute fedora (hat) on your little boy. Women, don't forget jewelry!
8. Don't forget your nails! Your hands AND your feet may be in some images!
9. It never hurts to get your hair and makeup done. Ladies, false lashes do wonders!
10. Dress for your personality and never wear something that you wouldn't wear on any other day :)
Now, here are some examples of family outfits. Notice there is an obvious color palette for each! If you need more ideas, try googling images under: "what to wear to a family photo session".
Have fun! Be yourself and choose a look that is as unique and special as you all are!
