The Balignot [Family]

I was especially excited to meet Buford, Jocelyn, and Sophie as they welcomed their newest addition, Ava into their family. This was because they attended the same church that I do and we share many mutual friends but we never actually met in  person. I wasn't quite prepared to feel like I had just expanded my own family after just one photo session with them. Honest to goodness, Jocelyn and Buford were such patient, kind and loving parents and just all around good people!

During diaper changes and feedings, Sophie and I built a puzzle together and she became my new best friend! She even gave me one of her prized hello kitty erasers which I tried to eat because I thought it was candy! To top it all off, Ava was a ridiculously easy baby to photograph. In newborn photography land, that means that she slept the whole time, didn't cry, AND didn't even pee or poop on anyone or anything! It was such a blessing to spend the day with these folks!

Even after a 3-hour session and the fact that they drove all the way up from El Cajon, they offered to take me to dinner. Not kidding! It gets better... we had sushi! My favorite! So over a few crunchy rolls and raw fish, I got to hear their adorable love story which started in high school when Jocelyn had a secret crush on Buford and everyone knew but him.

Buford and Jocelyn, thank you so much for welcoming me into your family in just a short amount of time! I was truly blessed to meet a family like yours and I hope we have many more days like this one in the future! Congratulations on your beautiful new baby girl...
